A bit of a dry update here, but it was something I needed to do before continuing on with the production. This is based on the finalized animatic.
The pitched film was originally 82 shots long and 3:00, the new version is 75 shots and down to 2:20.
Of those 38 BG’s 3 are multiplane shots, 1 has already been designed.
Of those 38, 11 are simple color cards. This leaves me with a total of 27 actual backgrounds.
Shot Planner is a document provided by AAU to the students working on short films. It’s formatted more for CGI productions, but some quick editing can make it function for just about any production. Obviously, it’s a moth-ball, shot in dark, wishful thinking device when it comes to estimating your time spent on shots, but it’s great for documenting the length, steps, and number of assets for each shot.
